Day Out at The Handmade Fair

I’m sat here with a glass of wine, typing this while the boy is waiting to watch a movie  (I’m about to join him). I’ve just just done my third couch to 5k run and I’m completely shattered.

Today I treated my mum to a day out at Ragley Hall for The Handmade Fair and thankfully the weather held out. In fact it was a beautiful day.

There’s not much (in the way of a detailed blog) to say about the experience apart from that it was a fab day out and it has given me some much needed inspiration to get with the creative vibe some more.

I shall let the pictures speak for themselves.

Bunting everywhere!
Excited for seeing the stalls.
Coffee for energy (except me, I’m decaf)
The lay of the land.
Getting inspiration. Similar to decopatch.
We really liked this stall. Their products smelt amazing.
Mum bought some white neroli and lemon body scrub, hand cream and body lotion.
Beautiful Ragley Hall in the distance. Storm clouds threatened but the day wasn’t spoilt. Look at the storm clouds! They look like we’re going to get drowned!!
Typically British.
Origami with Esther Thorpe. Front row!
My materials (how to make an origami diamond blog coming soon).
My finished diamond. Looks good!
SOOOO many places for food. Everything from vegan good to mixed grill.
We decided on Spanish paella. It was delicious!
Watercolour Modern Botanicals class with Harriet de Winton. This was us experimenting with how the watercolour paint reacts with the water.
We were challenged to paint a rose.

Didn’t realise that this tent was here, but got to sample some lovely flavoured gins, brownies, cookies and cake. Yum. My kind of stalls.
Time for a cup of tea but at £2.50 a little “steep”. Haha.
This company was fab. The have these saucers with sharp bits built in that can shred/grate/purée all kinds like cheese, garlic, ginger etc. I bought one because ginger is a nightmare to purée.
Loved this tent. Looked so chilled out.
Inside the comfy tent.
To continue the Spanish theme… Yummy Churros. The chocolate sauce was fab!
Time to find the car!!
Sad to go home.

I came away from the fair with a renewed sense of creativity. The things were so great and so many ideas. I wanted to buy a bear making kit, as I’ve made two teddy bears before and enjoyed it so much but the stall didn’t have the pattern I wanted so I ended up getting it online.

Hopefully it will come this week. Excited!

Thanks for reading. Please let me know if you have made anything so that I can check out your blog too.
